Yesterday, we reported that Kathy Henderson accused MPD officers of letting an alleged drunk driver go even after she crashed her car into multiple vehicles on Lang Place NE.
As it turns out, Henderson’s allegations are unfounded- the driver wasn’t intoxicated, and the crash was caused by her car’s tie rod separating. Reports MPD Lieutenant Jeter:
I queried the PSA 507 officers working that night and I was informed that the lady operating the vehicle had a mechanical problem (Tie Rod) separated, causing her to lose control and thus she struck several parked vehicles. Reports were taken for damaged to property for the vehicle owners (CCN 12-171-613).
Does MPD screw up sometimes? Sure. But, there’s no need to make up baseless allegations that serve no purpose other than attacking hard-working police officers.
We recall that Henderson has been accused of making up allegations before: witnesses stated that, on election day back in November, she filed false complaints against MPD officers trying to enforce election law.
