Many people reporting first and second-hand accounts of a shooting at or near DTLR (Downtown Locker Room) at 9th and H Street NE this morning over shoes.

NOTE: this has not been confirmed, save from the reports from people on Twitter. It’s possible that a shooting didn’t occur, and that the sounds were fireworks or something else.

Nothing from MPD yet.

Update 10am: From a reliable source at DCFD, shots were fired, but no one hit this morning

Update: Unconfirmed report from a reader as of 9:30am: “I just rode past DTLR on the bus, and there were a million police around, along with the sidewalk in front sectioned off with caution tape. There were evidence tags on the sidewalk next to bullets. Rumor has it (ie bus gossip) that someone got shot waiting in line for new shoes. There were still tons of people waiting in line though…”
