UPDATE: We took a look inside during this weekend’s open house. Long story short, the 2-car garage is just a garage door, and there are a few finishing details that are less than the “luxury” promised. Check out the details here.
Are we nearing the $1 million home threshold? Local resident @IMGoph noted that the newly-renovated home at 1228 Florida Avenue NE in Trinidad is now listed for $926,500. From the listing:
PRAISE-WORTHY BEAUTY! One of the widest & largest homes in Atlas District on one of the largest lots. Feels like Chevy Chase homes, so rare to find in this area. 6 BRs 4.5 Baths. 3,000 sf finished space w/ Family Rm & Breakfast Area. Gleaming Hardwoods, Stunning Custom Kitchen, exotic granite. Beautiful Master Suite. Spa worthy baths. 2 car Garage. Two blocks to H St & Bikeshare. Open Sun 2/3 1-4.
So, what do you think? Is this home a bargain or hoodwink?
More details, photos, etc. at the Red Fin listing here.

Well, it is big. I guess the homes to the left are 20 feet wide (typical for that style). This home looks wider, maybe 30 feet or so.
BARGAIN!!!! only cause i live on this block. GET MONEY
If you had a million bucks, wouldn’t you buy a detached home in Chevy Chase, MD? You wouldn’t have to pay for private schools OR live on Florida Avenue!
if it goes for more than 850k, I’ll be stunned.
put this house on any other block in the neighborhood and it would sell. Just not florida ave at that price….price drop 125K.

This is “Fools Gold”. Are you going to believe your eyes or believe what the realtor and media propoganda on what a neighbohood is all about?
The Test. Buy it for $1 million dollars and put it back on the market the next day. Now, see what asking price you can get for it without this media blitz. I learn from a very good football coach’s declaration; ” …every fool has a fool- and a good fool will have you…” Calvin H. Gurley
Calvin: Are you ever going to come take your signs down from your latest quixotic run for public office, or are we going to have to stare at those things until they rot away years down the road?
For the lazy:
Quixotic: Exceedingly idealistic; unrealistic and impractical

Why would we expect that? He just leaves them up there for the next time.
Also, I am selfishly glad to see him posting here. Nice to know that random ward4 listserves are not the only places he shoots off his mouth,
Did anyone look across the street to the abandoned building and vacant lot? This house is light years away from $925K
Just went under contract today… My wife and I can’t wait to meet our new neighbors!
